About Parkitect Australia

Parkitect Australia designs and delivers Modular Pumptracks across Australia and New Zealand, creating active riding spaces for all ages and all wheels.

We didn’t set out to start a pump track business.

In 2014, we were in Holland, watching our 9-year-old son compete in the UCI BMX World Championships.

While we were there, we came across a Modular Pumptrack. The way riders of all ages were drawn to it and the way it just worked with so many having fun together…was great to watch!

Over the following weeks, we connected with Erik Burgon, the founder behind the system.

What started as a few conversations quickly turned into something more. A shared mindset around riding. A strong appreciation for thoughtful design. And a clear understanding of what makes a pump track actually work in the real world.

The Modular Pumptrack system allowed for endless configurations, could be adapted to suit almost any space, and was already proving itself around the world.

“we had to have it in Australia!”

Becoming the exclusive distributor for Australia and New Zealand wasn’t a difficult decision.

It felt like the right one.

And since then, we’ve been focused on helping councils, landscape architects, schools and holiday parks choose the right pump track and avoiding thousands of dollars being spent on something that simply doesn’t work.

Parkitect’s headquarter is in Europe and specialises in the engineering, design and manufacturing of the Modular Pumptrack system.

Founded in 2006 by Canadian pro-rider, Erik Burgon, Parkitect was built on a passion for riding, thoughtful design and creating spaces people genuinely enjoy using.

Since then, more than 900 pump tracks have been delivered around the world.

From the beginning, the focus has been clear.

  • Design pump tracks that perform.
  • Deliver consistent riding experience.
  • Create real value for communities.

As Erik puts it:

“We’re a proud result of bootstrapping and grassroots innovation. A love of sport, adventure and inclusive design is what drives us every day. We are both thrill-seekers and creators of spaces that bring people together.”

Over time, this approach has shaped the Modular Pumptrack system into a proven solution that supports active lifestyles and encourages participation across all ages and abilities.

These are spaces where people ride, connect and have fun.

Behind every design is a deep understanding of what makes a pump track flow.

Parkitect’s team continues to refine the system through ongoing improvements to materials, manufacturing processes and track versatility.

That commitment to design and performance has been recognised globally.

Every Modular Pumptrack is built in a controlled environment, with each module undergoing a rigorous inspection process before being delivered, ready for assembly.

The system is certified and complies with Australian Standards AS EN14974:2021.

Because when it comes to pump track quality and performance, there’s no room for compromise.

Award-winning designs – inspiring happiness since 2006

Modular Pumptracks are a perfect playspace solution, encouraging active play in community parks and neighbourhood playspaces, holiday parks and housing developments.

  • Founder & Owner

    i assemble it

We were engaged by Moama on Murray Resort to install their Parkitect Modular Pumptrack. It was incredibly rewarding and satisfying as an installer to see the finished pump track in what can only be described as the ultimate kids paradise at the Resort.

Shaun and Sonja at Parkitect continue to be incredibly professional to deal with and we highly recommend their Parkitect products.

  • Regional Play Consultant

    Urban Play

My client needed a pumptrack that was easy to install, cost-effective and robust.

The Townsville City Council was so happy with the proposal of a Modular Pumptrack that they decided to install two tracks at different park sites in the region.

  • Strategic Projects Officer

    City of Burnside

Shaun from Parkitect Australia didn’t hesitate to pitch in with the Council team during the set-up process, providing valuable advice.

He’s always available to answer any questions and to give suggestions based on his extensive knowledge and experience of pump tracks in other locations, including interstate and overseas.
