Parkitect even provided a special harness to help unload the trucks. This made the installation process seamless.

Project Summary

Completed in February 2022 at Defiance Mill Park in Charters Towers, the 160-metre-long custom designed pump track has become a popular attraction for families from around the region.

Constructed over the top of the existing BMX track, the aim of the Defiance Mill Pump Track was to “reinvigorate cycle-based activities for Charters Towers residents by providing a venue for bike, scooter, and skateboard riders to showcase their skills and gain confidence in all manner of aerial and non-aerial manoeuvres.”

To see all the kids on the track with their bikes and scooters, some wearing the biggest of grins on their faces, is a true sign that the addition of this new facility was something that the community was waiting for.

From conception to the official unveiling, the project has been highly anticipated by the community as another space to get out and enjoy the great outdoors, and the turnout at the official opening is proof of that.
